It all started with Music. I already know what you’re thinking, “Really Matthew that’s how you are introducing yourself?!” “Well Yesssss hunty it had to have start somewhere right?!”. Music has been a huge influence on why I am who I am today and I’m grateful for it.
From watching my dad teach my brother how to play the drums, trumpet, piano, cymbals, basically every instrument known to man to him playing Jazz records from Billie Holiday to Luis Armstrong filling our house of smooth jazz and blues. I've always admired how music healed and brought people together, especially when it comes to family. My father is a huge reason why I do what I love today, his drive and determination helped push me to conquer anything in this world and to always find the Love of why I do what I do today.
Whether thats pertorming onstage, advocating for POC voices to be heard or even working a reaular everyday job I have the will to create a place where Music and Art can be celebrated by any & everyone. It is my duty to create a space where it doesn't matter what our differences are but with the power of music, dancing, singing that brings us together to create a beautiful work of art.
My friends and family are my biggest supporters and have influenced me to be who I am today. They are extension of me and could not do life without them by my side. I hey keep strive me to always follow after my dreams and to always remember home is where the heart is.
